As a celebrity makeup artist, Mary K Flaa has been making a name for herself in the film and entertainment industry for over 20 years. At the onset of her career, she attended Parsons School of Design, honing her eye in color and design, giving her an art foundation beneficial to her career as a makeup artist.

Continuing her education specifically in makeup, she took classes at Blasco and MUD makeup schools. With a formal education in makeup and design, Mary started her career in NYC, working in tv and print.

After exclusively working in tv and print, Mary decided to make the leap into commercials and film. From there she continued to broaden her skills and perfect her craft, becoming a department head of many of the projects she has since worked on. Some of the famous faces Mary has given her signature to include Stevie Nicks, Amy Adams, John Slattery, Marisa Tomei, Greg Kinnear, Sam Shepard, America Ferrera, Reese Witherspoon, Jon Bon Jovi, Hayden Panettiere, Madonna, Vanessa Williams, Michael Douglas, Alan Arkin and Joan Allen.

When asked why Mary likes being a makeup artist, she passionately states:

“I love the illumination of one’s natural beauty, the transformation, the drama…..putting my signature on a face whether it is the girl next door or a top model. At the end of the day, it is all about the radiance from within.
